There’s a family of blackbirds in our garden, I think they are now on their second ‘batch’ Mum and Dad are so busy collecting worms and grubs. A couple of months back they could be seen with massive bundles of ‘stuff’ - feathers, hair, hay, grass… ‘stuff' in their beaks, I’m sure they couldn’t see where they were going the bundles were so big. They have built themselves a nest in our hedge (good excuse not to cut the hedge for ages) and now can be seen gathering worms and grubs - the female has become my husbands best friend and follows him around the garden on the hope that he may dig something. In a couple of weeks the garden will become the nursery for their two little ones, exploring and learning. Learn how to fly and learning that some things (garden string) may not fight back, but they’re not great to eat - a great distraction from work but such responsibility! We have to watch for cats and wonder do Red kites take baby birds?
Two new arrivals have also arrived on two branches of the family, such lovely news. Squidgy and cuddly and full of love and joy. It’s so brilliant, they are just little factories of Love. No matter how much love you feed them with hugs and cuddles and care they just give you twice or three times the amount back! Beautiful little bundles of fun!! Lots of Love.
